You may not be aware, but on Wednesday it was National Lazy Day, and this Monday it’s National Relaxation Day! So that’s the perfect excuse to book some relaxation time in for yourself and have a proper lazy day. Here are our some ideas on how to achieve total relaxation; you deserve it!

  1. Meditation and yoga – you’re probably sick of hearing this, but these two activities are proven to promote relaxation. Throw some stretching in there to for full body relaxationRelax1
  2. Exercise – some people find serious exercise really relaxing, but if you’re not one of those people (yeah, us neither) then just a steady walk will do the trick
  3. Have a nap – naps aren’t just for children, having a 20 minute nap (or as long as you want really!) is a definite way to make you feel more relaxed
  4. Breathing exercises – doing some deep, slow breathing will help to relax you in a stressful situation. Practice the technique every day so you have to hand in those difficult moments
  5. Progressive relaxation – to get all parts of your body engaged, try the progressive relaxation technique; tensing then relaxing each part of your body in turn. Trust us, it works!Sleeping_Space_5
  6. Grounding – learn to be in the moment by taking in your surroundings; what you can see, smell, hear, taste and feel. This is a great way to practice being mindful
  7. Create a zen zone in your home – somewhere you can go to specifically relax. Try a hippie themed space with help from our previous blog to channel those chilled vibes
  8. Destress your home – as well as creating a specific relaxing space, make your whole home a more relaxing, stress-free place with help from our tips
  9. Spend some alone  – sometimes its just nice to be by yourself, doing what makes you happy without worrying about anything or anyone else!

  11. Leave work at work – don’t bring work problems home, its a sure way to make you feel stressed and agitated. Just be calm and forget about it while you’re at homeRelax3!
